types of evaporators

direct evaporator expancion
In the direct expansion evaporators evaporation of the refrigerant is conducted through its travel through the evaporator, being the state of a mixture of this intermediate point. Thus, the fluid leaving the evaporator is purely superheated steam. These evaporators are the most common and widely used in air conditioning systems. But are widely used in the cooling medium and low temperature, they are best suited for high volume facilities.

flooded evaporator.
flooded evaporator is equipped with an accumulator or steam manifold which serves both as a liquid receiver, from which the liquid coolant is circulated by gravity through the evaporator circuit.
Flooded evaporators used in refrigerators assemblies with multiple evaporators using generally ammonia (R717) as a refrigerant, a situation very large installations. This is due to complex and bulky cooling system associated with this type of evaporator-pond system with recirculated, which justifies its implementation only in large plants and refrigeration plants
