autogenous welding (ingles)

The welding is a type of welding by fusion welding also called oxy-fuel or oxy-acetylene.Oxyacetylene welding is the most widespread form of welding. In this type of welding, combustion is performed by the mixture of acetylene and oxygen are burned at the exit of a nozzle (flame).

Materials needed to perform a weldingWelding torchWeldTorch Oxygen and acetylene bottles:The burner ejects the mixture of oxygen and gas is the most important part of an autogenous welding equipment. Mixed with oxygen gas is acetylene, an unsaturated hydrocarbon gas. Care is not easy to notice his escape.Gas mixture:Is carried out with the torch nozzle. Is contacted at high speed oxygen and acetylene at low pressure. In a nozzle opening leading to the suction depression of acetylene and allows the mixture.Gauges:Possible to reduce the high pressure inside the bottles to a value which allows the production of a useable flame 1 bar for oxygen, acetylene 0.4 bar.ProcedureFor example, joining two metal sheets are placed one beside the other in the position to be welded, the junction is heated rapidly to the melting point and by the fusion of both materials produces a seam or weld.To achieve a rapid melting and prevent the heat to propagate, the torch is used, combining oxygen (oxidizing) and acetylene (fuel). The mixture is produced with a peak with a hole where acetylene, surrounded by four or more holes through which oxygen leaves. Both gases are combined before exiting at the peak and then there is a feature called thin light blue. (Be careful in handling since sometimes the flame is invisible without reducing their heat). The effect of heat melts the ends which bind to the cooled and solidified obtaining a homogeneous bond.Different materials can be welded steel, copper, brass, aluminum, magnesium, foundries and their alloys. This type of welding used to weld pipes and tubes, as well as for repair work, so it is still used in garages and domestic installations.Should not be used for joints subjected to stress, therefore the effect of temperature, causes very high residual stresses, and is also more expensive than the welding arc.Oxygen and acetylene is supplied in bottles drawn steel at a pressure of 15 kp / cm ² for acetylene and 200 kp / cm ² for oxygen.
